We woke up on Friday morning with the boat docking at Nassau in the Bahamas. We had already decided we were not going to get off the ship to look around Nassau...there are so many things to do on this ship, we needed to stay on it just to see some of the things the Dream had to offer.
We started our morning off with a buffet breakfast at Cabana's. We were seated by a window...which was good because it let us all look out and see all the colorful buildings along the port.
The kids decided after breakfast that they wanted to go to the Oceanears Club/Lab. Michael wanted to go get a massage at the spa and I just wanted to relax in a lounge chair, read my book and look at the city. From the boat, there was a pretty good view of the Atlantis resort. It was really cool looking.
At one point during the morning, I went up to the room to find that it had been cleaned and this pretty swan had been left for us. He had also taken Zachary alien and placed him on the bed. Our pirate rags had also been placed on our bed, just waiting for us to use later that night.
Michael and I decided to go get the kids from the Club and take them to the pool deck so we could all ride the AquaDuck...this is the water coaster that takes you off the side of the ship. It was awesome. So much fun. If the line wait hadn't been 45 minutes long, we probably would have rode it all day.
Before we did go swimming, we had to go get the kids from the Oceanears Club. This place is amazing. The kids wear a bracelet...a.k.a. a Mickey bracelet. This is a tracking device. When a parent checks a child in, they have them scan their bracelet. Parents are allowed to go back in the club and lab areas. Then, when you come back to get your kids, you tell the workers your children's names and they can look them up on the computer and tell you where they are at. Once you find them, the kids have to scan their bracelets and parents have to provide their password and key card in order for the gate to open. I always felt really safe leaving the kids in there and anyone who knows me knows that I am a little on the paranoid side of life.
When I walked in on this day to get the kids, Taylor was sitting on the floor with a group of girls and they were listening to the story of Cinderella being told by a guy who was the narrator and CINDERELLA!! How magical is that?!? I just stood in amazement and watched. Once the story was over, we went to the lab to get Zachary and he was in the middle of a Wii Disney Sing-Off...it was his turn and he was singing, "You Got a Friend in Me." They had so much fun they didn't want to leave until we told them we were getting them so we could go ride the AquaDuck.
I didn't take my camera with me to the pool deck. I didn't want to worry about someone trying to take it while we were riding the Aqua Duck. There were times I wish I had went back to the room to get it once we were done. We had a great time on the pool deck. Michael and the kids got into the very busy and crazy Mickey pool. We watched Nemo on the big screen...the Funnavision. We had lunch at Flo's V-8 Cafe and the kids played a little in the Nemo splash area.
After we cleaned up, the kids wanted to go back to the Club. Michael and I went to the D Lounge and played a few rounds of Bingo...we did this while we were waiting for the Disney Vacation Club presentation. We scheduled an appointment with one of the representatives to talk with her more about it after dinner. Long, but exciting story short, we are now Disney Vacation Club Members!
Later on, it was time for dinner at the Animator's Palate. This was probably my favorite restaurant. I loved the decorations and of course, the dinner entertainment.
We sat at Table 95 for all of our meals. I loved how they indicated Table numbers with the Paint Cup and brush.
This is the bread plate and knife...how cute!
Before we knew it, the cute drawings that were on the wall disappeared and the walls opened up and we were greeted by Crush from Nemo and all the other characters. This meal was a lot like "Turtle Talk with Crush" that is at Epcot in the Living Seas with Nemo pavillion. Crush talked to some of the diners. It was a lot of fun.
This is Taylor's dinner. I really only took the photo to remember how Aswald put her ketchup on her plate.
When the time with Crush was over, the walls closed back up and the paintings reappeared and dinner was over.
After dinner, it was time for the Villain's Tonight show. It was so fun. It was told by Hades from Hercules and included just about every villain you can think of from a Disney movie.
After the show, it was time to go to the Pirate party up on the pool deck.
The Disney ships are the only cruise ships out there that do fireworks at sea. It was pretty amazing to see.
After the fireworks, the pirate party started. Captain Jack showed up by repelling down the side of the smokestack.
It was late and we were all exhausted from our busy day on the Dream...so after a while, we headed back to our room to go to sleep and get ready for our day at Disney's private island...Castaway Cay.
