I'm going to try to play a quick catch up to what we have done so far this summer. Right after school was out, we took the kids to Kansas City and visited Martin and Melinda. We took the kids to Worlds of Fun for their first visit. They loved it! Zachary showed us he is quite the thrill seeker when it comes to rides. He loves roller coasters! Taylor likes her rides a little more tame. I spent most of my time with Taylor in Camp Snoopy while we were at WOF. Taylor's favorite thing to do was ride Woodstocks Airmail.

While Taylor and I hung out at Camp Snoopy, Zachary, Michael, Martin and Melinda went for a ride on the Mamba...or as Zachary referred to it, "The Snake."

We all had a great time in Kansas City and the kids are ready to go back.
This summer we have also been spending some time at the ball park watching Zachary play baseball for the first time. He is really enjoying it. There are a couple of boys from his school that are on the team and that makes it even better! I'm so happy that he has found a sport that he loves. Here are a few shots of him at various games.

This is at his first game. Showing off his new uniform!

He hit a single!

Look at that smile after he crossed home plate!
When Zachary decided he wanted to play baseball, we told Taylor she could pick a sport. She automatically chose ice skating. She is doing really well with it, but for me every time she steps on the ice, I feel a heart attack coming on. It really is a stressful 30 minutes for the parents. Hoping that your kid doesn't fall and really hurt themselves. She's had a few falls and one that brought her to tears, but she loves it and even getting a little hurt hasn't stopped her.

At her first lesson before stepping onto the ice!

They let the kids push stacked buckets around until they feel comfortable on the ice without them. Taylor used the buckets for her first lesson.

For her second lesson, she decided she didn't need the buckets anymore.

Another no-bucket lesson!
Our other news for the month of June was that we decided to adopt a new puppy. Her name is Farrah and we got her from Tri-Lakes Humane Society in Reeds Spring. I highly recommend going there if you are looking for a new pet. They were so nice to work with and right now have a waiting list on the pets they can take in. They are also a no-kill shelter and from what I understand, they operate solely on donations. Farrah has been a good puppy so far. She's so smart. Isabelle has done really well with her...Sophie still doesn't care for her.
Here are a few photos of our first few days with Farrah:
