What a busy week!

The last few weeks have been crazy busy! They have really flown by. My Mother's of Multiples Club Next-To-New Sale was this past week. We did our set-up on Thursday night, then on Friday it was the night that the members could shop and on Saturday morning was when it was open to the public. I worked all shifts. We have the sale twice a year...once in the spring and once in the fall. I have probably worked 5 or 6 of the past sales and I have to say this was the best and busiest I have ever seen it. We hit a club record for the most sales!! That's so awesome because our club gets 10% from the sellers and that money goes towards all of our club activities throughout the year. I wish we had been able to have done a head count for the public sale. It was busy the whole time. The line wrapped around the entire gym of the church and the people at the end of the line were standing next to the people at the beginning of the line. Some people waited in line for 1.5 hours. Everyone said it was well worth the wait...knowing the kind of savings they were getting on things for their children. I wish I had taken my camera with me to have snapped a few photos.

After the sale was over, I came home and Michael left to go work his shift at Rock N' Ribs. An annual event that Rotary sponsors. So, he was busy doing that most of the weekend. Since he was gone on Saturday afternoon, I decided to take the kids to a new city park. It is called Rutledge-Wilson Farm. It was awesome!!! The kids loved it. The land was donated by two families and they turned it into a working farm that is operated by the park board. The kids loved it. Their favorite thing was climbing up and jumping off the hay bales. There were petting zoos, a fake cow to milk and a really cool farm-themed play area. There is also going to be a pond where kids can learn to fish. It wasn't quite ready yet, but Zachary is really excited about that because he has wanted to go fishing for a while now. Why...I don't know. We are not fishers. To be honest, fishing freaks me out. I really don't want any part of putting a worm on a hook or then taking the fish off the hook...yuck! I had a bad experience as a child fishing and vowed to never do it again and so far I never have. I felt so bad and so guilty for what happened to the fish because of the hook. Anyway...that's another story. Back to the farm...
Here are a few photos from our time at the farm. We will definitely be going back as often as we can. It is just so unlike any other city park that we have around here.
