St. Louis Weekend!!

This past weekend, we went to St. Louis for a family-fun weekend!! It was a great time and good to get away! On Friday, we took the kids to the City Museum. It was a really cool place. The kids loved it. It is made up of items that at one time had been thrown in the trash and they found a new way to use them. Lots of slides and fun things throughout. Here are some photos:

Michael and the kids outside the museum in front of the sign.

Taylor sliding down one of the "roller" slides. The kids loved this one.
This was somewhere inside the museum. I can't remember which floor we were on. I think it was an area for skateboards, but the kids loved sliding down these. Zachary almost looks like he is flying or falling instead of sliding in this photo.

Outside, there were all kinds of things to crawl in and crawl up. It was really interesting. This was one of those moments though when I think my heart stopped beating. The kids were really high up in the air. Michael is right behind them. He had to crawl through all the metal rebar tunnels with the kids. When they made it to the top, there was a huge slide that went down the building. There were so many things to do here. I know when we go back to St Louis, we will go there again. On Saturday, we got up and headed to the St. Louis Zoo. So fun!!
The kids wanted their photo taken with the sea lion sculpture. It wasn't until afterwards that I saw a sign asking that no one crawl on these. At least I know we weren't the only ones who didn't see the sign because there were lots of kids crawling on the sea lions.
The zoo is so huge....much larger than the one we have here. Zachary's favorite part was riding the train. We did that quite a bit to get to other areas of the zoo. Taylor really wanted to see the penguins. So, after riding the train, that was one of our first stops.

There was a lady standing across from the pengiun exhibit who worked for the zoo. She let Taylor hold the stuffed baby penguin for the photo. So nice of her!

We saw so much at the zoo...too many photos to show everything we did.

On Sunday, we took a quick drive down to the arch. It wasn't open yet, so we just walked around outside so the kids could go up and see it.

After leaving the arch, we met some friends for breakfast and visited for a while. Then, we headed to Grant's Farm. I love Grant's Farm. It was pretty cold on Sunday, but still fun!

When you get to Grant's Farm. You hop on a tram that takes you through the farm area where animals are everywhere. There were some buffalo that came right up to the side of the tram. There were also different types of deer, mountain goats, zebras and different kinds of cattle.

These are photos of us on the tram...just to prove that I was actually on this trip too...I had Michael take a photo of me with Taylor.

When we got off the tram, we headed straight over to the baby goat are so the kids could feed the goats some milk. We were one of the first groups of people there, so the goats were hungry and really crowded around the kids. Zachary and Taylor weren't sure what to think of that at first. One of the goats stood up on Taylor and started nibbling her hair and her ear. She definitely didn't like that.

Just a quick photo of the kids in front of the Grant's Farm sign.
Zachary and Taylor also decided that before we could leave they wanted to hand feed the camels. I was surprised at how gentle they were....especially since there is a sign on their fence saying they may bite. Here is the website...in case you want to see what else there is at Grant's Farm: http://www.grantsfarm.com/
After Grant's Farm, we headed home. It's always fun to get away, but always nice to be back home!!
